Bootprints is proud to call Nova Scotia home. In just a few days, the Bay of Fundy and South Shore Tour will show you a sample of what Nova Scotia has to offer, covering many highlights.
You'll hike next to the ocean and witness the highest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy. Your boots will take you to seaside cliffs, beaches and the Cape Split sea stacks. In the Annapolis Valley you'll learn about the tragic expulsion of the Acadians at the Grand Pre National Historic site.
You'll leave your bootprints on the mud flats of the Bay of Fundy where afterwards they'll be erased by the highest tides in the world. On the list of stops are two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the picturesque town of Lunenburg and the Landscape of Grand Pre.
Let Bootprints share the beauty of Nova Scotia with you during this three day holiday adventure!
TOUR HIGHLIGHTSYour guide will meet you after lunch today and transport you to what's known as the South Shore area of Nova Scotia. On your hike this afternoon, the sound of the surf and applauding rocks will soothe your soul as you walk along the beach. You'll experience stunning ocean views and layered rocks that are so thin you can break them with your hands. Tonight you stay in the UNESCO town of Lunenburg for the night, where the undefeated Bluenose racing schooner was built.

2-3 hours, 6.5 km (4 miles)
Accommodations Bluenose Lodge, Lunenburg
You'll be transported to your next destination on the famous Bay of Fundy, home to the world's highest tides.
Today's hike is the Cape Split trail. This popular path through the forest pops out on a grass-topped cliff right next to a sea stack - the perfect spot for a snack. Watch the powerful Bay of Fundy tide swirl around below you. On the drive, you'll stop at a lookout with a beautiful view of the Annapolis Valley. We'll also stop for a birds eye view of the current tide levels. Tomorrow you'll return to this same viewing spot to see how different it looks when the tide has changed.
This hike is a bit of a challenge. If you're not up for it, we can offer an alternate hike for the group or you can spend the day exploring and relaxing in Wolfville.

At the Grand Pre National Historic Site, you'll learn about the farming methods of the Acadians and the story of their deportation in the 1700's. A short walk here takes you to a view that showcases the UNESCO Landscape of Grand Pre.
Today also includes a walk on the ocean floor, which is sure to be the highlight of this trip for all the explorers out there! Look for crabs, and watch the periwinkles slowly etch their path on the beach. You'll be transported back to Halifax or the airport area today.
Note that being able to walk on the ocean floor and view the high and low tides depends on the tide schedule. We can check the tidal predictions ahead of time to see if they look good for the dates that you want to travel.
